Preserving Rice Culture: Traditional Rice Transplanting Ceremony
“On August 8, 2025, the Department of Agriculture organized the ‘Traditional Rice Transplanting Preservation Project’ at the Nong Khwang Higher Education Center in Khu Mueang District.”
The cultural and academic initiative was led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Wanida Samranram, Asst. Prof. Dr. Suchada Sanusan, and Lecturer Peerayuth Siritanakorn. They guided agriculture students from all year levels (1st to 4th year) to participate in traditional hand-transplanting rice methods.
This annual project aims to preserve local agricultural wisdom and enhance the students’ practical skills and hands-on experience under the core “Rice Production” curriculum at our demonstration rice fields.
